JOIN THE MOVEMENT

OF GOD IN THE MARKETPLACE

Terry Wright

Chair

With more than 30 years in the business sector of central Alabama, Terry brings a breadth of experience in practical leadership counsel.  He grew up in suburban Birmingham, graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and then worked in the corporate world through the 1980s and into the mid-90s.  Terry took on increasing levels of management responsibility in sales, new product development, and strategic marketing operations.

In 1994, Terry formed Private Business Exchange, Inc. (PBEx), an independent business valuation and acquisitions firm.  This effort involved helping buyers and sellers of privately-held businesses find each other across the Southeastern US and then negotiating the consummation of mutually agreeable sale contracts between parties.  Terry came to learn that a decision to sell was often a default way for clients to deal with negative business issues and realized that selling wasn’t always the best path forward.  As a result, Terry evolved in his role as an acquisition broker to include a consultative component.  Much of his last 10 years with PBEx was spent helping clients deal with challenges, then determining “best move” scenarios, exit strategies, and negotiating on behalf of clients.  As a result, Terry has gained and held certifications including: Certified Business Consultant, Certified Business Broker, and Senior Business Analyst and Certified Equipment Appraiser.  More importantly, Terry has gained a reputation for wisdom, practical decision-making and discernment with clients, business associates, and friends.  He routinely serves as a confidential source of encouragement for CEOs and business owners, especially in viewing their business and personal circumstances through the lens of the Bible.

Terry lives in Vestavia, just outside of Birmingham with his wife Phyliss (30 yrs), who serves on staff with The Church at Brook Hills where they are members.  He is active in church and missions work, having served in leadership roles as a Deacon, Elder, teacher, counselor, and on the board of several para-church organizations.  Terry and Phyliss have a son in college, a married daughter, and two grandchildren.

Our Members Say It Best

C12 is the largest and fastest growing Peer Advisory Group experience in the United States. Why?  The C12 Group is not a business Bible study. It's not a professional networking group or a guest speaker forum. It's a movement of Christian business leaders truly changing the world in and through the marketplace.
